Privacy Policy — Mabiaati Mobile

The companion app for the Mabiaati point-of-sale system.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

Mabiaati Mobile is published by Taqniya. It lets a shop owner view and manage their own Mabiaati point-of-sale system from a phone. This policy explains what the app handles, where that information goes, and what it never does.

In short We do not sell your data, we do not use advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. The app carries your own shop's business data between your till and your phone, and nothing more.

Who this app is for

Mabiaati Mobile is a business tool for shop owners and their staff. It is not directed at children. The App Store age rating is 13+.

To use it with a real shop you need a Mabiaati point-of-sale system installed on the shop's computer, and you must be its owner or have the owner's permission to pair a phone with it.

There are no user accounts

The app has no sign-up, no username and no password. You connect it to your own till by scanning a pairing code, which gives the app a store token. That token is the only credential involved. We never ask for an email address or a personal profile in order to use the app.

What the app handles

Information Why Where it goes
Store token Identifies which shop the phone is paired with Stored encrypted on your device (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). Sent to the relay to authenticate each request.
Your shop's business data — sales, orders, refunds, products, stock, prices, staff names, repair tickets, and any customer name or phone recorded on an order by your till So the app can show your shop and apply changes you make Passes through the relay server between your till and your phone. Cached on your device so the app works offline.
Device name and a random device identifier So paired phones can be listed and revoked Relay server. The identifier is generated by the app and is not an advertising ID.
Photos you choose Only when you set a picture for a product Sent to your own till through the relay and stored there with the product.
Voice recordings Only when you hold the microphone button to ask the assistant a question Sent to Google's Gemini API to be turned into text, then discarded. Not stored by us.
Assistant questions To answer questions about your shop and about how the app works Your question and a summary of your shop's current figures are sent to Google's Gemini API.

Device permissions

You can refuse or withdraw any of these in your phone's settings. The rest of the app keeps working.

Notifications are created on your device

The app has no push-notification service. Alerts are generated locally by the app itself from data it has already received. We do not collect a push token and cannot send you messages.

The relay server

Your phone never connects to your till directly. Both connect to a relay operated by Taqniya, which passes snapshots one way and your changes the other. The relay holds the most recent snapshot of your shop so a phone can load quickly, plus the list of paired devices. It is keyed on your store token: anyone without that token cannot read your shop's data.

Snapshots on the relay are overwritten by each newer one and are removed when a store stops syncing. Disconnecting the app from your till deletes the token and cached data from your phone.

To run and support the service, Taqniya can see which stores use the relay, the store's name and contact details, the names of the phones paired with it and when they were last active, and can switch off mobile access for a store or remove a paired phone — for example if a phone is lost, or if the store's Mabiaati service is no longer active. This view does not include your sales, stock or customers.

Artificial intelligence features

The in-app assistant is powered by Google's Gemini API. When you ask a question, the app sends your question, recent messages in that conversation, and a summary of your shop's current figures so the answer can be specific to your shop. If you ask by voice, the recording is sent to be transcribed. Google processes this data as our service provider under their API terms. We do not use your data to train any model.

If you do not want this, simply do not use the assistant. Every other feature works without it.

What we do not do

Data you are responsible for

Your till may record customer names and phone numbers against orders and repair tickets. That information is your shop's, and it reaches the app because it is part of your shop's data. You remain the controller of it, and you are responsible for telling your own customers how you use it and for having a lawful basis to do so.

Keeping it secure

Your rights

Because the app holds no account, the fastest way to remove everything it stores is to disconnect it (More → Disconnect this device) or delete the app, which removes the token and the local cache. For data held on the relay, or to ask what we hold, contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how your data is used, note it in the app's release notes.
